Welcome to the Young Freedom Fighters of America
 As I look to my son’s future, I asked myself several questions: What is the legacy that we are leaving for our youth(our children)?What does the future look like through their eyes? And the most important question of all-what can I do as one person,to make the world a better place for these children? I look at the mixed messages adults (that would be us) send our kids through sexually explicit media and music. I considered the toxic atmospheres in which many of our children live- in our own homes. Our teens are making decisions that could negatively impact the rest of their lives, even end them altogether. Educators have been given the burden of not only teaching our children, but raising them as well. The mantra for to many youth is “Stop Snitching.” Police and anyone else in authority are ‘the enemy’. Baggy pants, drugs, gangs…what is the legacy? I’ve heard our children referred to as “generation x” we need to wake up and realize that they are generation “next”. WE cannot move far enough away to avoid feeling the impact of a large number of our children dropping out of school, being incarcerated, etc. For our children What do we do? What can we do? We Unite! We get involved! We Learn! We Teach! We Mentor! We fight for the freedom of our children! Free them from the negative mindset of the streets! Free them from mediocrity and ultimate ignorance! This then, is the vision of Young Freedom Fighters of America-to not only raise awareness, but to take action through community involvement. To have a membership in each neighborhood that will mentor and teach our youth about leadership skills, the political process, economic development ,self-respect, the importance of a good work ethic and being an active participant in the community in which one resides.
